Extended Maharishi Effect

In 1976, with the introduction of the more advanced TM-Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying, a more powerful effect was expected.

The first major test of this prediction took place in 1978 during Maharishi’s Global Ideal Society Campaign in 108 countries: crime rate was reduced everywhere.

This global research demonstrated a new formula: the square root of one per cent of a population practising Transcendental Meditation and the TM-Sidhi Programme, morning and evening together in one place, is sufficient to neutralize negative tendencies and promote positive trends throughout the whole population (1).

This much-reduced requirement—in many cases just a few hundred individuals practising Maharishi’s Vedic Technology of Transcendental Meditation, the TM-Sidhi Programme, and Yogic Flying to bring life in accordance with Natural Law for a whole nation—enabled this discovery to be repeatedly verified on the city, provincial, and national levels.

Global Maharishi Effect

Research has shown that groups of individuals practising Yogic Flying—all enjoying very high brainwave coherence—create coherence in collective consciousness, and generate a unifying and integrating effect in the life of society. This results in a decrease of negative trends throughout society—such as crime, accidents, and sickness—and an increase in positive social, economic, and political trends. Scientific studies on this phenomenon have demonstrated that a group of Yogic Flyers numbering at least the square root of one per cent of the world’s population (8,000 at this time) can produce this coherence-creating effect on a global scale, reducing violent and negative trends worldwide. As a safety factor to permanently establish the Global Maharishi Effect, five permanent groups of 8,000 Yogic Flyers should be created for lasting peace in the world.

Field Effect of Coherence

The Global Maharishi Effect was created by the group practice of 7,000 Yogic Flyers (7,000 being approximately the square root of one per cent of the world’s population at the time of the studies) during three large ‘World Peace Assemblies’ that were held over a period of two to three weeks in the USA and Holland.

The secret of the Global Maharishi Effect is in the phenomenon known to Physics as the ‘Field Effect’, the effect of coherence and positivity produced from the field of infinite correlation—the self referral field of least excitation of consciousness—the field of Transcendental Consciousness, which is basic to creation and permeates all life everywhere.

The greatest demonstration (2) of the Global Maharishi Effect so far was evidenced when the enmity between the two superpowers (Soviet Union and the USA) ended in a friendly handshake (1988).

With this, the two-thousand-year-old gospel of suffering is soon coming to an end, and a new civilization, Vedic Civilization of enlightenment and fulfilment, is dawning (3).

Published Research

Many carefully controlled experiments on the Maharishi Effect, the Extended Maharishi Effect, and the Global Maharishi Effect have appeared in leading scientific journals (4).

These studies have utilized the most advanced and rigorous (5) research designs and statistical methodologies to precise evaluate the effect of large coherence-creating groups on standard sociological measures of the quality of life in cities, provinces, nations, and the world.

These studies have rigorously demonstrated the power of the Maharishi Effect to a degree of certainty that is unparalleled in the sociological sciences.

The Maharishi Effect in itself proves the existence of the Unified Field of Natural Law and man’s ability to operate from this level of the field producing the ‘Field Effect’—Maharishi Effect.

As the Maharishi Effect is purifying world consciousness, old principles that were guiding life in the age of ignorance are being replaced by new principles that will guide life in the dawning Age of Enlightenment in today’s world.
